Welcome to The OTR Lounge!
My name is Jim Brooks and I’m unabashedly in love with old time radio. I’ve been collecting those shows for years. The programs were great and, for me, the coolest thing was the fact that you couldn’t see what was going on. This gave your imagination a terrific workout. I created this site for other lovers (and potential lovers) of OTR. I’ve provided links to sites where you can listen to OTR shows for free. You can also download them and then listen to them anytime you like. Collectively, these sites provide a genre for everyone’s taste, and they're kid friendly. You can listen to Adventure, Comedy, Variety Shows, Drama, Westerns, Detective Stories, Science Fiction, Mysteries, Thrillers, Historical Broadcasts and Music. The sites I’ve chosen don’t require a login or password or any of that annoying stuff. And did I say they’re free? I’ve also included links to sites containing topics of interest to OTR enthusiasts. Included in these topics are information on OTR discussion groups, information on the history of radio and hundreds of scripts from OTR shows. There’s even a site where you can buy antique radios. Then, for a little visual stimulation, come into my video vault. And visiting the World News page will keep you up on current events around the world. I put that page here just for fun.
